What is the CNESST?

The CNESST is an organization, entrusted by the government, whose mandate is the management of the Quebec health and safety in the work environment, encouraging employers and workers to take charge of the prevention of accidents or illnesses in the workplace. The CNESST is also responsible for the compensation and reimbursement of expenses for maternity safety, work-related injuries or illnesses, temporary reassignments, duties and obligations, while attempting to always promote the employee/employer relationship and the prompt return to a sustainable workplace.
